Therapeutic Boarding School for Troubled Teen - Zion Educational Systems

Sometimes, troubled teenagers need help overcoming problems. That being said, it might be necessary to use a teen treatment program to help our troubled teens deal with emotional, behavioral or drug problems. There are many different types of treatment programs available for troubled teens. These include boarding schools, Christian boarding school, local therapy and help programs, residential treatment centers, military schools, boot campswilderness therapy programs, etc.

It is important to carefully evaluate your teenager and decide which type of treatment program would work best in their particular circumstances. If your teenager is experiencing emotional difficulties, including depression, or some mild behavioral or mild drug use problems, a local program may work best. These local therapy and help programs can teach your troubled teenager how to deal with issues, as well as provide a support system to help him or her overcome some forms of drug use. Local programs also cost less than distance programs.

Depending on the problem, and the therapy used, programs range from free to around $200 per hour. Additionally, the teenager has the advantage of being close to home and having familiar family around. Another option for teen treatment programs are boarding schools or specialty boarding schools. These are schools that include certain behavioral modification techniques to help troubled teenagers with moderate behavioral problems and some forms of drug use.

These schools work by encouraging a focus on academic achievement and teaching teenagers to make better decisions and engage in more appropriate behaviors. Some specialty boarding schools have psychologists and other support staff, including nurses in some cases, on hand to help use scientifically tested methods to help teenagers change the way they act.

Academic programs are also a major part of boarding school and specialty boarding schools. Christian boarding schools are no different. They only differ in the sense that they base their program around Christian values. These schools range in cost from $1,000 to $4,000 a month, on average. If your teenager has serious issues with drugs or major behavior problems, a residential treatment center may be necessary. These teen treatment programs are designed first and foremost to get your child away from the influences that may be causing problems.

Residential treatment centers include medical staff and support. These centers include therapy and sessions meant to help troubled teens address severe emotional, behavioral or drug programs. Medical staff can treat symptoms of withdrawal, as well as provide counseling and mental health services. Residential treatment centers can run between $5,000 and around $11,000 a month, depending on the level of care needed by the teenager. Length of stay is usually between six and eighteen months.

Deciding On a Teen Treatment Program

Before you decide on a teen treatment program, you should research your options and have your child evaluated. For some troubled teens, a better choice is to stay close to home rather than going away. Other teenagers may have severe problems that warrant more intense care and treatment, as well as medical attention from skilled professionals. It is a good idea to visit programs if you can, in order to decide whether the program will meet your needs. You should also check testimonials and references, and check with state regulating authorities to make sure that there are no actions or major complaints against the facility.

Paying for Teen Treatment Programs

There are a number of options when it comes to paying for teen treatment programs. First of all, if therapy is involved, it is possible that your health insurance might pay for some of the treatment. This is especially likely if you decide to go with a local program or psychologist. Some health insurance programs will cover mental health programs, and some will even partially cover drug treatment.

Check with your coverage to see whether your troubled teen’s treatment qualifies. Another route is to take out loans. Some specialty private schools and residential treatment centers offer payment plans and special financing to make paying for your teenager’s treatment more manageable. You can also check with your bank and other programs for special educational loans for K-12 private schools for use with specialty boarding schools. Some people take out a home equity loan, but this is harder to do right now, with home values dropping. It can be difficult to realize that your teenager may need additional help. However, it is important to make sure that your child is cared for and has the tools necessary to overcome problems and challenges.

If your teenager needs a drug treatment program, it is a good idea to proceed carefully to make sure that you find one that fits your needs and, most importantly, the needs of your teenager. Zion Educational Systems can help parents of struggling teens through this difficult time.
