Obsessive thoughts are usually unwanted or unpleasant thoughts and images that are difficult to get out of the mind.  The thoughts can often become very frequent and upsetting.  For troubled teens, these thoughts can consist of many things.  Aggressive thoughts are very common, consisting of unwelcome visions of physically harming or verbally abusing others.  In addition to this, inappropriate sexual thoughts are often present, which can cause immense guilt and embarrassment for the troubled teens experiencing them.  Obsessive thoughts can also come in the form of other things, including worrying about insignificant problems, a fixation on organization or symmetry, and an excessive need for cleanliness.  All of these thoughts cause stress and anxiety for those afflicted with them, and can take a toll on mental health, which is why getting the right kind of assistance to your troubled teen quickly is important for tackling the problem.
