Child Development

The medical dictionary defines child development as: the biological, psychological and emotional changes that occur in human beings between birth and the end of adolescence, as the individual progresses from dependency to increasing autonomy.

The transitional time of child development is arguably the most important and impressionable time in a human’s lifetime. What an individual becomes or identifies with as a person all stem from what occurs during the time of child development. If a person experiences a turbulent childhood or upbringing, the greater chances that individual will struggle with therapeutic or emotional disorders later on in life.

Habits, lifestyle choices and behavioral patterns are all issues stemming from child development. Those who experience a positive and nurturing child development, are more likely to develop into socially accepted, fully functional adults.

Troubled teens who are currently struggling with their transition from adolescence into adulthood, are not at all doomed for failure. As this time is generally accepted as a turbulent and trying one, there are countless opportunities of treatment and assistance for troubled adolescents.
